How do Veneers work?
Veneers are thin layers of porcelain that provide a new front surface for your teeth.
Here at Creative Smiles we use very high-quality porcelain material from the best laboratories in the country to create our veneers.
Their strength and appearance are similar to that of natural teeth.
How It Works
Following your initial assessment an additional two visits are required. During the preparation visit, the tooth is shaped before impressions are taken and sent to our Laboratory. Our “Smile Design” technique means we can change your smile on the same day that your teeth are prepared.
You then wear your individually tailored ‘trial smile’ as a temporary measure until your permanent porcelain restorations are fitted just over two weeks later. Using the impressions, precise models of your teeth are made and working closely with skilled technicians together we create the final result.
You will be shown the veneers in place to make sure you are completely happy with the shade and shape of the veneers before they are finally bonded onto the front of your tooth with a tooth-coloured resin adhesive.

I graduated as a dentist from Queens University in Belfast in 2006. Since then I have also achieved a Master’s Degree with Merit in Restorative Dentistry at the highly regarded Eastman School of Dentistry at UCL. This was a 4-year postgraduate course in all aspects of restorative dentistry. I regularly travel to London for further courses with world-renowned dentists such as Thomas Taha and Basil Mizrahi. From this commitment to further education, I offer a minimally invasive and patient centric approach with special interest in tooth wear cases. Whether it is general dentistry or more complex restorative work you are looking for; you will benefit from the most up to date techniques. I really enjoy the benefits for the patient of working with rubber dam and adhesive dentistry to make restorations more predictable and long lasting.
I have recently returned from living and working in Australia for 2 years where I learned about new digital workflows in dentistry and will continue with this line of treatment at Creative Smiles.
In my spare time, I enjoy triathlons, CrossFit and family time in the outdoors with my wife and 2 kids.

I graduated as a dentist from Newcastle Dental School in 2012. Since then I have worked in both mixed NHS/private and private practices. I undertook further examinations in 2014 to attain Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh. Alongside this, I have trained newly qualified dentists for the past 3 years and have gained a Post Graduate Certificate in Clinical Education.
In 2018 I undertook the prestigious Tipton year long course gaining a Certificate in Restorative Dentistry. I am an accredited Invisalign provider and am currently working towards completing a 4 year Masters Degree in Aesthetic Dentistry at the world-renowned Kings College London. This enables me to treat complex cosmetic cases to the highest possible standard. I pride myself in my attention to detail, striving to provide high-quality care combined with a caring and empathetic approach. Outside of dentistry, I am kept very busy with my young family, my wife and I recently welcomed our second baby. I enjoy baking and watching as much rugby as I can. I am a keen skier and love the outdoors.
